Known to be often triggered by the airborne carriers of a wide range of infections, viral fever is the result of the infection that we tend to catch from the air that we breathe. The Giloy leaves have various therapeutic properties, such as being antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, detoxifier, rejuvenative, analgesic, anti-stress, anti-cancer etc. However, it has best been known for its immune-modulatory functions. Being both preventive as well as curative in nature, it works as a natural means to boost our immune system. Its regular consumption leads to a significant increase in the WBC count, which eventually results in improved resistance to a variety of disease-carrying agents. Simply consuming about 1-2 grams of this herb twice a day is sufficient. Apart from treating chronic fever, giloy also reduces the symptoms of stress and anxiety, moderates premature signs of ageing and exhibits some incredible gastrointestinal protective properties.
Rice starch happens to be another great natural remedy for viral. This is natural, nourishing and helps boost our immune system. Taking approximately half a cup of the same on an empty stomach in the morning supports respite from the viral fever.
Tulsi (Holy Basil)

For better taste and results, we may also add some lemon juice or honey to it.
Garlic or Lahsun is another great herbal therapy for viral infection. You may try taking the same as it is in its crushed form, or add it sliced or pounded to warm, freshly prepared soups. Garlic is loaded with natural properties of being anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral.
The anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of Ginger that help fight cold, cough and fever are long known to us. Ginger therefore is relieving in the viral fever when taken in the form of freshly prepared tea, decoction or grated and juiced as a potion with some honey mixed into it.
Warm, soothing home-made food such as khichdi is also highly effective during those days. This can be combined with supportive spices and herbs like mint, black pepper, ajwain (carom seeds), ginger etc.

Uplat as effective and supportive therapy to relieve viral fever to be taken in the dosage of two capsules once (stat) for a period of 5 to 10 (in case the platelet count is above 50,000). This is mainly because this particular medicine contains Giloy or Tinospora cordifolia extracts as one of its main ingredients. Various studies have shown T. cordifolia to hold natural immunomodulatory activity, which furthermore exhibits increase in the WBC counts and bone marrow cells.
